Course Description

Course Highlights: This course consolidates and advances the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a diverse array of resources and topics, extending into less familiar areas. Students will become adept at interacting with native speakers, confidently explaining and debating their ideas and opinions.
In addition, the course offers an optional internal Achievement Standard 2.3: Interact using spoken Spanish to share information and justify ideas and opinions in different situations (5 credits). Students may choose to attempt this standard based on their interest and ability.
Vocational Pathway: Creative Industries, Social and Community Services, Service Industries.
This course can lead to: Level 3 Spanish, AFS Scholarships to live in a Spanish-speaking country, and enhanced job opportunities in tourism, commerce, diplomacy, teaching, journalism, and many other careers. Proficiency in Spanish will also aid in learning specialist scientific vocabulary.
